What Inspires You In Life by Gabriel O.
The thing that inspires me most in life is the children who are unfortunate, which most people would call poor or homeless. Two years ago, I was fortunate enough to go to my country and give to the community. My family and I went on a family trip to Ilesha Nigeria, where my parents were born. Even though My siblings and I were born and raised in America, our roots are from Nigeria. During our stay in Nigeria, We gave food and school items to the unfortunate families. I had the privilege to converse with some of the unfortunate kids that we gave to. What touched my heart about these kids is that every one of them told me how they wished to go to school and learn. I would think they would wish for food, shelter and clothes but, their wish was to get an education so that they can make a living out of it. Immediately, I thought about the state I am currently in. I have shelter, food, clothes, and I am currently getting my education. Moreover, I received my education freely for more than half of my life. I have all that these unfortunate people don’t have yet, I am not giving my best towards my education. Immediately, I changed my attitude towards my education after I met these unfortunate kids in my country. They’ve inspired me to give my best in school so that I can be a better version of who I want to become later in life. I promised to come back to my country and build a school free of charge for the unfortunate kids.
