How to Block Unwanted Emails on Yahoomail

Block Unwanted Emails – Over the years spam has become a major problem encountered by all email users in the world. Regardless of what web mail service you are using, you will always have your email account filling up with unsolicited emails, junk emails. Though some of these emails come from legitimate advertising emails and newsletters that you signed up for, sometimes they can be a pain in the a$$. At other times, they are just messages coming from someone you do not wish to hear from.

1. Block an unwanted email address from sending you emails on yahoomail and,
2. Unsubscribe from marketing email messages and newsletters.

How to Block Unwanted Email Messages on Yahoomail

For you to automatically delete every mail that is coming from a particular email address follow these steps:

Login to your yahoo mail account. You can login on to your Yahoo Mail Here.
Once you have access into your email platform, hover your mouse over the “settings” icon. A drop down menu will appear, click on “settings” as shown above.
When the “settings” page opens, click on “Blocked Addresses”.

This will take you to the page where you can enter the email addresses that you want to stop receiving emails from.

Just add an unwanted email address in the space created for it and click on “Block”. Once you a done adding the email addresses, click on save to ensure that the list is definite. You can ban as many as 500 email addresses.

If you are using yahoo mail basic, be sure that “Options” is selected in the drop down menu of your navigation bar and click “Go” under “Advanced Options”, open the blocked addresses category and add the email address you want to block in “Add an address”. when you have added the email address, Click “+”.

How to Unblock an Email Address

Just follow the same process that you did to arrive at “Blocked Addresses”(that is: select “Settings” – Select “Blocked Addresses”). Select the email address you want to unban and click on “Remove” then “save”.

How to Unsubscribe from Newsletters and Other Marketing Mails.

Newsletters and marketing emails are usually legitimate because you subscribed to receive them. However, the consistent and continuous inflow of these mails actually becomes annoying. To get rid of these “used to be” important email messages, just open up one of their mails to you. Scroll down to the bottom of the email; you will definitely see any of these links (they are usually in small print):

“Unsubscribe Now”.
“To Be Taken Off This Mailing, Visit This Page”.
“Unsubscribe from this list”.

Click on any of these links and you will be taken to a page where you can unsubscribe comfortably.

Warning: For whatever reason do not click on any link in an email sent by an unsolicited source. Only unsubscribe from marketing mails that you are sure that you signed up for. If not, just ban the email address. An example of a marketing mail that you can unsubscribe from is shown below:
